This weekend, we decided to go for a crazy day to a very touristy place that we've already been to so many times before. But this was to be the very first time for Mason. It was probably not the best idea to go on a crowded Saturday, but it's always packed over there anyway. We started with the Brooklyn Bridge and crossed over to spend the entire day in the DUMBO area. Even though we were definitely not alone for a beautiful summer day outside, it was a great idea and we had a blast!
Those two have known each other for only a week now, but I think everyone can tell that the conection is there!!!
Of course once we crossed the bridge we couldn't pass up this photo opp! The view is amazing and the weather was so beautiful. I tried to make Mason smile, but lately it seems that the only thing he likes to do is stick out his tongue!
^ It definitely takes two to make him smile ^
^ Here we go with the cute little tongue ^
^ I just don't want him to grow up, but at the same time, I can't wait to see him walk! He's already standing up pretty well ^
^ Those tiny little shoes... I just wish I could wear them too :) ^
Of course at one point he needed to eat. I usually breastfeed him, but with the way some people look at you when you do so in public, it's more
comfortable sometimes to just give him a bottle. So now when I go out for a long day I just pump some milk beforehand.
Carrousels have always been a big deal in my life. As a kid, if I had the chance to ride one, there was no way I would pass it up! Knowing that we have less than two months in New York, I figured it was time to take advantage of the beautiful weather and bring Mason for his first carrousel ride. We went to the Jane Carrousel under the Brooklyn Bridge, where I'm like a kid again every time I go. The area around there has some of the most beautiful scenery in the city. I have some amazing pictures with my husband there already, since it's the location of our engagement photo-shoot, and it's nice to have some more recent ones now with our new addition :)
I was worried Mason might not like it since the music was pretty loud for a 4 month old. But he didn't mind at all, and seemed pretty comfortable on that horse :)
^ Even though I think we had more fun than him ^
One ride was not enough, and Mason was still enjoying it, so we decided to switch partners and take another turn!
Being in the area, we had to take a stroll on the promenade! Not only to enjoy the view, but also because it's where Anthony grew up and used to play as a kid. Now walking over there with his own family makes it pretty special... He has a lot of memories over there, telling us some as we were walking and now I'm happy that we created a few more.
^ Those tiny little toes inspired me ^
It was a wonderful day, but it was time to go back home... I'm glad we took all of these pictures of us together with Mason. One day I'll show them to him!
