Galette des rois

Even if I'm far away from France, I can't forget about the tradition I grew up with. The "Galette des Rois" is one of them and I wouldn't miss it for the world. Even Anthony, who's American and didn't know about it until a couple years ago, is now totally crazy about it! It's supposed to be eaten on Januray 6 as part of a traditional celebration, but I could eat it every single day since it's just so good! We usually can find it in bakeries only in Januray so I try to take advantage of it as much as I can. This year Mason is still a little bit too young to eat it and participate in finding the "fève" inside, but I'm sure once he'll be old enough he'll love it and I hope that I'll always be his Queen :)

At least he enjoyed playing with the crowns while we really enjoyed eating it!

After moving from New York, where I used to be able to find a French bakery pretty easely, I was scared it would be more difficult in Los Angeles! Thanks to the Internet, though, I was able to find a very good one in the West Hollywood area. They make so many of my favorite French pastries that I'm now gonna be able to always satisfy my French cravings! Yum!
