It was only Mason's second Christmas, but we can tell he already has a sense of it. He does not understand the whole Santa thing yet, but he for sure got the part of opening gifts.
He was so patient and really listened when I explained to him what was going on. He had to see every single gift before opening a new one. I really appreciated the fact he wasn't asking for another one. Instead I was the one saying, "ok, next." Otherwise, we would have spent the whole day on it.
We got him a bunch of books. He loves to read stories so much. We never have enough of them.
I realize lately that he understands so much more than I would have guessed. Especially in English because I'm speaking only French to him.
Wriggling his hips around as the book asks for!
Thumping his chest like a gorilla. But that one is probably one of the first ones he ever learned, and he loves doing it! I read this book to him 4 times and I had to distract him with a new package. Otherwise, I think I'd have had to keep reading it over and over again... That makes me think it was a great choice!
He got a few new books of his all time favorite writer - Mo Willem - Mason is obsessed with the pigeon one.
Of course we had to read every single one right away after unwrapping them.
Benson got to read with us too...
Then Daddy stepped in to have some fun too!
Mason got a wooden train set and is over the moon. He got so excited and so frustrated at the same time. He wanted to know how to play with it and to master it right away. He's such an impatient little boy.
We had so much fun and now we're gonna spend days learning stuff, playing, reading, drawing and creating together! I can't believe Christmas is already over and that next it will be his second birthday! Wish I could have had a slowing-down-time machine for Christmas...
I hope you all enjoyed your holiday. Sending you lots of love from us! Xoxo
