Beach buddies

Even though we live in LA where it's supposed to be hot and beautiful all year long, the last few weeks haven't been that great. Ok, I know I'm not supposed to complain since we have way more sun than many other places but I can't help it because I'm French! Isn't that what French people are known for?! ;)

The sun is definitely back and the temperature has risen! So beach day it is. I keep trying to bring Mason in the water but he really doesn't like it. One day I'm sure I'll have to fight with him to come out of it, so I'm staying patient.

He preferred way more to play in the sand!

He's not really into building castles and stuff yet so I tried to bring a car mold to see if that would attract him more but I'm sorry to say that I totally failed doing it. He didn't care at all! He kind of looked at me like, "mom seriously?! Uh uh, not happening..."
Well at least I tried...

To access El Matador beach in Malibu you have to go through some rocky road and a lot of stairs. Of course that attracted Mason way more and he kept waiving bye to us as he went up the stairs.

I let him for a little bit, but it was pretty dangerous so I always had to stay behind - which he absolutely hates - and grab him so he wouldn't go too high!

Not happy to not always get his way...

After a little while he gave up on trying to climb the stairs, knowing I was gonna get him no matter what. We have to bring his monster trucks everywhere so he can play with them.

He watches videos of monster trucks jumping and crushing stuff - I hate it but he loves it - and he reproduces it with everything he can find and it's absolutely hysterical to him...

This time it was on shoes! He loves to do it on food at home which is wonderful and so easy to clean :)

He started doing it on seaweed but realized fast enough that it was kind of gross...

We hugged a little and watched the waves that were coming closer and closer...

And we played silly! Because at the end of it, my favorite thing with this little guy is to have fun and see happiness on his face!

Mason always wants to do everything on his own. We barely use our stroller anymore because he always wants to walk. And no matter where we go he doesn't have any sense of danger and we always have to fight with him to stay in our arms. We let him go up on his own for a little bit but when it became too dangerous we had to carry him!

It was a beautiful place, but it's hard to get there with Mason growing up and getting too independent! I like beaches like that because they are way less crowded but I'm not sure we will be able to go there a lot anymore...
