Father's day fun

We've been in Los Angeles since over a year and a half now but we never took the time to actually go on a bike ride. When we moved here I thought Mason was too young and after we never really thought about it much. I almost bought a bike a few months ago but didn't because I thought I wouldn't make enough use out of it. I might change my mind now...

Because we had so much fun! Mason was surprisingly very good. He sat on his seat super easily and even let us strap his feet. Ok he asked midway to free them but still for a first time for a wild kid he did very good!

The most difficult part was to make him keep his helmet on. He never ever accepts hats or anything on his head so it was a challenge but as long as he had food in both of his hands he couldn't remove it...

And he was so cute wearing it!  With the little ears I was dying with his cuteness. I actually like it because it was pretty light for him and it was protecting him from the sun who was very strong! We went on an early ride so it was still bearable - thanks to the little ocean breeze - otherwise we would have totally melted!

It felt a little bit like if we were tourists but it was kind of fun! We almost felt like we were on vacation...

The bike we rented wasn't in very good shape so I actually didn't ride it very long with Mason. I didn't feel safe enough. Even though you never forget how to ride a bike, which is totally true because the last time I rode a bike was in Paris probably 6 or 7 years ago and it felt like it was yesterday but I was kind of freaked out to ride one with my baby behind me. Kind of like the first time I drove with him! OMG I was so scared!!!

Well the nice part for not having him behind me was that I was able to watch him having fun with his dad! After all it was Father's day so it was meant to be that way...

After our bike ride along Santa Monica's promenade we went for a stroll and some shopping on Santa Monica 3rd street promenade. We go there very often! I like it a lot and Mason can walk there freely without worrying too much.

He was so good and well behaved his dad couldn't resist and gave him a little lollipop!  He loved it for five minutes and after that I had to carry it the rest of the time because...
POPCORN!!! This kid is seriously so much like me. I've always been way more into salty food and he's exactly the same!

He even shared it with me!

I try to eat as healthy  as I can but when it's hot like it was I couldn't resist but get a frappuccino. I always feel kind of guilty after but it's soooo good!

He's observing and doing everything like us lately but even better he's listening so well! So when I asked him to cross his legs like me he did and it totally amazed me... Look at how cool he looks :)

He's rocking his new shoes! I LOVE them. It's been a struggle since he's born to find good looking, comfortable and wide enough shoes for him. The other day I came across those and loved them right away. They are 3D printed and made with breathable mesh. They are the lightest ever, can go in water and they are very stretchy and flexible! They were just made for us...
